I had a dream

I’m so jazzed these days and I don’t know why I haven’t shared it here. First let me preface by saying there have been a couple crappy things that have happened in the midst of the wonderful, but the wonderful is so fantastic I can put things in prospective.

Probably about 7 years ago I was watching Dr. Phil, he was doing a story on being a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children), I was very interested in doing this. I visited the website but realized by life was not going to allow for this, I had young children and a husband with lung cancer. I bookmarked that site and honestly didn’t think about it again.

Fast forward 7 years and I’ve flipping channels and there is Dr. Phil talking about CASA and being a CASA volunteer. I watched, I thought about it and within 10 minutes I was on CASA’s local website offering to be a volunteer.

A little information about CASA, ”

CASA volunteers are everyday citizens judges appoint to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes due to parental abuse and neglect. They stand up for these children and change their lives.

CASA volunteers have helped more than two million children find safe, permanent homes.

Pretty cool huh. Well fast forward a few months and many hours of classroom training and you’ll find me tomorrow being sworn in by a judge as a CASA volunteer. I’m so excited, scared, and anxious. It will be a new experience, and rewarding and stressful thing but in the end what it is, is the culmination of an idea I had many years ago finally coming to fruiting, gotta say IT FEELS FANTASTIC!

Go out and find your dream, do something you always wanted to do, it’s so worth it.
