These aren’t going to be the usual reasons and in no specific order.

  1. Tired of telling myself my pant are too big because they are falling down when actually it’s my stomach pushing them down.
  2. Tired of looking at my thighs and thinking if I wore jodhpurs I’d fill up the part that’s supposed to be puffy.
  3. Chaffing. When you wear dresses in the summer and it’s really hot well an icky and painful thing happens to your thighs.
  4. I like yoga and would prefer I not get strange looks when I say I do it, I know what they are thinking.
  5. I want a reason to buy new clothes that doesn’t involve elastic-unless they are cute yoga pants.
  6. I hate thinking about food but I will probably always have too
  7. By being a rather recent vegetarian I’m getting really tired of people asking how being a vegetarian is working with my weight, I know what they are really saying—-why aren’t you getting smaller?
  8. Perhaps if I lose some of this junk in my trunk I’ll lose some of this garbage talk I have in my head.
  9. I have girls and I know by doing what I can for my health I show them the right way, no diet talk in this house, it’s all about healthy eating.
  10. I’ll stop thinking every fad product that comes out is going to be the real trick to getting me there.

So what are your reasons?

Ditch Your Scale and Lose Weight

Warning these are my opinions only I am not a medical professional. Here’s the thing the #1 way for me to lose motivation to lose weight, my scale. I exercise, I lose weight sometimes. But more often than not that scale has sabotaged me more than once. Even when I lose weight according to my scale it sabotages me. Then there is the doctor’s scale which is evil and never correct. I’m convinced they put their foot on it behind me when I’m standing there…just sayin’

Anyway, the thing is I have been exercising and eating pretty well. I know with all certainty that if I get on my scale and it tells me I’ve only lost a little or heaven forbid none at all or worse yet gained, that’s it. My brain will again say, what’s the point? A few months ago I had lost 10 lbs, no where near the amount I want to lose but fantastic amount none the less, what happened? I stopped exercising, suddenly for some weird reason I haven’t quite figured out I lost all motivation.

Ditch it, give it away, hide it, lock it up-put that scale away. You are smart enough to know if you are doing things right, you will feel it and if you’re not you know that scale is not going to be your friend. Do what you need to do and forget the numbers.
