What’s on my Igoogle Home Page

A highly simplified version of the RSS feed ic...

I love my igoogle home page, not sure what it is? It’s a personalized homepage where you can keep widgets, gmail, rss feeds, games etc.. I personally love to subscribe to rss feeds. What are RSS feeds? Well if you read blogs many of them have available an rss feed which will put the current blog posts into your rss reader. Google has it’s own reader but I’m to lazy to go to yet another page to read stuff I want it all right in front of me. It’s a great way to try out a blog and if you don’t like it, in my case anyway, I just remove the feed from my igoogle homepage.

So what do I have

1. The weather for where I live which is in the cold and impossible to predict NW Ohio. I also have added for a little while the weather for Port Charlotte FL which is where I will be heading in 3 weeks…not soon enough!

2. Scrabble. I have about 9 games going with a variety of people. Maybe once or twice a day I make a play and wait for the others to take their turn. Keeps my brain active.

3. Gmail. I can get a condensed version of the past 10 or so emails. And I can delete them right from my igoogle.com page, I have to read them in gmail though.

4. People.com all the latest gossip from People Magazine

5. Woot Watcher gadget. I love the deals you can get on Woot.com and the gadget puts the newest deal on my front page, AND when there is a Woot Off-tons of items offered for a limited time- it’s all right there.

6. RSS Feed. Currently I have 18 feeds running and that will probably change soon as I realize that I’m not reading some. Here are some of my favorites.

A Daring Adventure-blog posts from my absolute favorite life coach dude, he’s even helped me a bit in the past. He’s funny, irreverent and a Brit!

Kindle News I follow the feed on Amazon for when people write in about problems-just in case I run across something important.

Lifehacker. If you can’t find something interested on Lifehacker I can’t help you in any way possible. Very cool site.

Curvy Girl Guide, cuz I am and I like the blog.

Stayathomebabe.com just picked this one up today, Iwatched a video she did on curvygirl.

My Vegan Cookbook – I’m not a vegan but I am a vegetarian, some great recipes.

The Daily Downward Dog my favorite yoga blog writer

Oh I gotta go just saw an article on Lifehacker I gotta read! Let me know if you have some other favorites to share.

What’s on your igoogle? Need help finding ones I’ve mentioned? Just ask in the comments.

Warning the website I’m about to talk about can suck you in and you can find yourself carried along for hours. It’s not a website exactly but rather something like a tour guide. I’m talking about Stumble Upon.

Go to Stumble Upon and create and account. Then click on the categories that interest you. Then fasten your seat belts and get ready for the ride. Based on what categories you chose, you then stumble to different websites whose content matches. Sometimes it’s dead on and sometimes it’s not. You can share your discoveries, you can thumbs up or thumbs down sites and even save some favorites to revisit.

I happened on this site because I hear about it all the time and now I know why. A lot of the sites you Stumble Upon are not necessarily mainstream but they can be so interesting or teach you something or just waste your time but have fun at the same time. Go check it out when you have a minute or a few hours. Stumble Upon will be your cruise director. Thumbs Up!
